Concept / Self-initiated

The Ninth

A self-initiated esports membership concept designed around turning passive fandom into year-round membership, brand through product, with an AI moment-clipper prototype at the center.

Self-initiated concept, designed around a real global esports organization. Unaffiliated, not commissioned, and not endorsed by it.

Problem

Esports has a membership problem. Huge audiences, thin membership. Fans show up for the moments and leave, and most orgs treat them as viewers to monetize instead of members to build around.

The Ninth starts from the opposite idea: what if fandom, community, and year-round engagement are the product, not just the broadcast? It is designed around a real global esports organization rather than an invented one, so every decision stays concrete.

System

One system, brand to product to broadcast to feed. One brand system feeds five connected surfaces: the membership app, an AI moment-clipper, a broadcast overlay package, a social content engine, and the brand guidelines that hold it together.

The product runs on a daily loop, watch, predict, belong, climb, so membership stays active between events. Paid membership climbs through 3+ tiers above open access, topping out at Inner Nine, earned, not sold.

01

Brand system

One language across five surfaces.

02

Membership app

Loop: watch, predict, belong, climb.

03

AI moment-clipper

Three live signals, one auto-clip.

04

Broadcast + social

Same engine, three surfaces.

[ 03 ]

Decisions

A few choices kept five surfaces from drifting.

01

Members, not viewers

Built around recurring fan actions and a daily return loop, not a one-time signup.

02

AI as a feature, not the pitch

The clipper drafts, a human approves. AI is a production tool here, not an unattended autopilot.

03

One detection engine, every surface

The clipper powers the app, the broadcast overlay, and the social engine from one system.

04

One design language, five surfaces

Brand, app, clipper, broadcast, and social read as one product.

Why it exists / what it proves

The Ninth is self-initiated. The figures above are scope, not outcomes. No audience, engagement, or revenue is claimed. The clipper is a functional interaction prototype: its signal inputs and approval flow are demonstrated, and it is not a production deployment.

Reflection

The Ninth is where the systems thinking runs without a client's constraints. It shows how I build brand, product UI, AI feature logic, motion, and launch thinking as one system, around a single idea about esports membership. And it proves the AI part with a working clipper prototype instead of a slide that says AI.
