DealNews – Open For Business

Building the self-serve marketplace that let 17 million monthly users finally become a selling point for advertisers.
DealNews is one of America’s longest-running deal aggregation platforms, connecting over 17 million monthly users with the best prices across thousands of product categories. Despite its reach, there was no way for brands and marketers to buy ad placements on the platform without going through a sales representative directly.
That friction was a real pain point for the sales team and a missed revenue opportunity for the business. A self-serve marketplace was needed to open a scalable B2B channel and put buying power directly in the hands of advertisers.
Challenge
With 17 million monthly users and a growing base of brand partners, DealNews had no self-serve platform for advertisers to purchase placements online, creating a bottleneck for sales representatives and a barrier for small to mid-sized businesses.
Solution
A full UI/UX framework was designed in Adobe XD, covering all primary pages and sub-flows, then built on Shopify using a custom theme with a conversion-optimized layout, streamlined application funnel, and dedicated B2B social accounts to support lead generation.
Result
The marketplace launched at advertise.dealnews.com and opened a new scalable B2B revenue channel for the platform, extending DealNews’ reach into a segment that had previously required direct sales contact to access.
